Yiwu is becoming increasing important as a place for sourcing and manufacture for markets throughout the world, and about 300,000 foreign business people visit every year. With the construction of a G bullet train line between Shanghai and Yiwu, it is becoming more of a tourist interest locale as well. To serve travelers, the government has been busy constructing new transportation infrastructure for train, air, bus, and local city transportation.
Yiwu Train Station
Yiwu is the transportation hub in central Zhejiang Province. Yiwu Railway Station is located in Changjiang Ban Village. It is about 10 km away from the Yiwu downtown area where the big three main shopping markets are. It is the second largest train station after Hangzhou Railway Station in Zhejiang.
G bullet train: In late 2014, a G type bullet train line opened that connects it to Shanghai. These trains can go over 300 kph, and it cuts the journey time to about 100 minutes. Now Yiwu is connected by G trains to Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
Taxi: Yiwu Train Station is about 17 minutes by taxi from the train station to International Trade City.
How To Go by G Bullet Train from Shanghai
Go to Hongqiao Station
You can take Line 2 or Line 10 to the station. Line 2 is especially convenient for tourists and business people because it extends from the Hongqiao international Airport to the Pudong Central Business District (CBD).
Getting on the G Train to Yiwu
You can buy a ticket from the ticket window. The train set up is much like that of a typical subway station. The trains leave often, every half hour during peak travel hours, and they arrive on schedule. Once you get a ticket, wait for the train in the train waiting area. If you miss a train, you can take the next one.
Yiwu G train tickets: Business class G tickets cost about 60 USD (2015), and 2nd class tickets for comfortable seats cost about 20 USD. About 27 G trains leave Hongqiao Station every day, and they reach Yiwu Station in about 100 minutes. The first G train departs at 6:30 am, and the last leaves about 6:30 pm.
Jinhua Yiwu Airport
Jinhua Yiwu Airport (义乌机场) is located about 10 kilometers from Yiwu city and 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the Jinhua urban area. It is the largest airport in central and western Zhejiang Province. There are flights to Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Haikou, Nanchang, Shantou, Wuhan, Xiamen, Fuzhou, and other cities.
Airport bus transportation: There is a newly-built bus line from the airport to downtown Yiwu. Buses depart when flights land at any time.
Taxi: Taxis are also available at the airport. It takes around 30 RMB to ride a taxi to the main downtown area (20 minutes).
Three Regional Bus Stations
Yiwu is a crossroads in the area. There are three major passenger bus transport centers: Guojishangmao Bus Station, Jiangdong Bus Station, and Nanfang Bus Station.
Guojishangmao Bus Station
The Guojishangmao Bus Station (a.k.a. Binwang Bus Station) mainly has regional buses going to places in Zhejiang Province. It just went into operation in early 2015, in the old Binwang Bus Station location. Buses go to Hangzhou, Huzhou, Jiaxing, Shaoxing, Taizhou, Lishui, Ningbo, Zhoushan and other places within Zhejiang Province.
You could go to Guojishangmao Bus Station to catch a bus to Hangzhou instead of taking a bullet train. Perhaps you would want to see the countryside or go late at night when the bullet train service isn’t available. Buses reach Hangzhou in two hours for a 60 RMB fare.
Jiangdong Bus Station
This is mainly for Zhejiang cities located to the south of Yiwu such as Wenzhou, Lishui, Taizhou, Dongyang, and Yongkang.

The most convenient and economical mean of transportation in Yiwu is by bus. The city bus lines cover most areas of Yiwu City. What’s more, travelers also can take buses to local villages and towns at Nanfang Bus Station.
